Required Experience: | Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
Strong written and verbal communications, organizational and time management skills.
Ability to analyze data and interpret complex claim information or legal issues, reports, or key metrics that impact operational performance and results.
Fully competent with MS Office suite of products and pertinent estimating systems.
Must have strong knowledge of commercial and farm claim related issues and policy coverage contracts, including DOI claim regulations.
Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of the claims legal process, understanding of relevant case law or claim related regulations, technical claims issues, processes, procedures, best practices and strategies.

Position Requirements: | Due to the nature of the needs in the position, regular and reliable attendance is required. Must be able to work at least 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and be available as situations arise requiring extended hours. Position may require extensive travel and remote working conditions, or overnight travel. Must be available to work catastrophes (CAT) requiring travel to CAT sites with varied claims responsibilities and for extended periods of time beyond the typical work week.

Job Details: | Responsible for the coverage, liability, and damage investigation and determination, reserving, negotiation strategy and resolution, and documentation of claims within a specialty area and authority. This may include handling litigation claims and exposures. Consistently demonstrates technical expertise and customer service excellence, requiring limited supervisory oversight and direction within authority. Works closely with the claims leaders to resolve claims with high complexity & or exposure. Handles claims duties and responsibilities in person as necessary or as directed. Consistently complies with state and federal laws and regulations, company best practices, corporate values, and communications. Embraces ongoing training opportunities and self-development. Evaluates self-performance in accordance with established corporate standards and policies for performance appraisal. Works with defense counsel as necessary to expedite claim resolution, and manage LAE. Strengthen operational performance within a specialty area by recommending claims initiatives, efficient processes and procedures, and delivering exceptional claims service in response to customer needs and industry trends. Works productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis, including Agency partnerships. May assist in the training and development of others. Responds positively to direction and feedback regarding performance. Consistently maintains professional and appropriate demeanor. Performs other duties as assigned. |
