How much of the job deals with irate customers? |

I've done about 250 property claims the last 12 months for different carriers and cannot remember an irate insured. Lots of apprehensive jitters about getting screwed by the carrier (from media coverage and attorney advertising, proclaiming that common denials is how the carriers work)and some wanting/needing money due to the economy...but none of them were angry or hostile towards me during inspections. Innate irate insured's? No such thing...Two things that make an insured very unhappy. Thinking they're going to get screwed by their insurance company or thinking they aren't going to be able to xxxx the insurance company, the latter is somewhat rare. Do two things, look, listen and ask questions when something doesn't seem right. The insurer doesn't get unhappy if they feel the claim is legit. The insured can get very unhappy for many reasons (some are legit). ...

I do not believe ANY decent company that cannot give you a reasonable and livable annual income will demand complete loyalty to them. If they do, there is something very wrong. I handled claims for several last year but when fall and winter comes it's dead in the water for work...your status to multiple companies should be "overflow adjuster" so when spring and summer claims pile up, they do not completely rely on you anymore than you do them. ...
