The Arizona Department of Transportation says its freeway pump system had problems during Mondays rain storms, aggravating flooding that closed part of Interstate 10 for hours. Department spokesman Doug Nintzel says one pumps communications system failed to automatically tell workers that the pumps engine hadnt started. Nintzel says that delayed workers from reaching the site to turn on the pumps engine.
