A man who pushed his wife out of danger’s way is dead after a crash sent an SUV careening onto a sidewalk where three people were waiting to cross a Phoenix street late Sunday afternoon. It happened at 43rd and Peoria avenues in Phoenix.
Emergency crews from Phoenix and Glendale, which has a station very close to the scene, responded and the patients were on their way to local hospitals within 20 minutes of the call-out. According to the Phoenix Fire Department, a wreck caused an SUV to veer onto the sidewalk and into a ditch. That vehicle hit two pedestrians who were waiting at the corner to cross the street.
