Colorado Man Run Over by His Vehicle

A man was critically injured Sunday morning after he apparently leapt from his own vehicle, fell to the ground, and was partially crushed by a wheel. The incident occurred about 6:37 a.m. in the 15900 block of East Nassau Drive, according to the Aurora Police Department. The man was backing a large van out of a driveway when he accidentally dropped a burning cigarette down the front of his jacket. The man jumped out of the van in an attempt to shake the cigarette out of his clothing. The van continued rolling in reverse, bumping the driver and knocking him down, police said.
