Construction Worker Buried In Trench Collapse Dies

A man who was buried when a trench collapsed in Minnetonka has died. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner says 48-year-old Jimmy Scott Klous of Onamia died at 11:16 a.m. Monday at Hennepin County Medical Center. The incident was reported about 10 a.m. Monday at 1900 Oakland Road in Minnetonka. First responders say they arrived to find one man completely covered in dirt, and the other man was buried up to his waist.
Investigators say the two men were prepping the area for water utility work as part of a Minnetonka street reconstruction plan.
According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, the cause of death was the result of blunt force injuries to the chest.
The Minnetonka Police Department and OSHA are continuing to investigate.
