Fatal Stairwell Collapse At California Apartment Complex

The Sacramento County Coroner released the identity of the Folsom staircase collapse victim from Friday. The coroner identified the victim as Shun Xiang Yuan, 26, of San Francisco. Yuan died while walking down the stairs from the third floor of this friend’s apartment at the Legends at Willow Creek. We spoke to his family who told us he went by Chris. He was an only child — fun and smart. He was a master’s student, attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. His cousins said he was on a trip to Lake Tahoe and stopped by his friend’s apartment in Folsom, when the stairwell collapsed.
