Florida woman arrested for insurance fraud

A Port Charlotte woman has been arrested after intentionally flooding her home and setting her kitchen on fire to collect insurance on it all, according to the Florida Department of Financial Services. Nancy Amieva filed fraudulent insurance claims, according to authorities on the case. If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison. The claims, totaling more than $70,000, were never paid when suspicions were raised about their legitimacy.
