Hail the size of golf balls and baseballs pummeled eastern Laramie County on Sunday afternoon, carving a path of destruction from north of Cheyenne through Burns and Carpenter. The storm caused some farmers to declare a total loss of this years wheat crop. It also damaged homes and destroyed windshields. The Gordons, who live near the Egbert exit on Interstate 80, were one family affected. “We lost all the north windows in our house,” Charlene Gordon said Monday. “It wiped out the whole window.” Gordon said the golf ball-sized hail also completely destroyed a window in her daughters car and damaged the familys other vehicles.
