Heavy Rain, Flooding Leads to Water Rescues

North Texas roadways quickly began to flood Thursday morning after heavy rain overnight. Heavy rainfall caused rising water issues in Cooke, Denton and Wise counties. More flooding is expected throughout the day.
In Cooke County, Valley View recieved an estimated 11 inches of rain, according to Cooke County emergency coordinator Ray Fletcher. Southbound Interstate 35 in the Valley View area was closed for about 5 hours Thursday morning due to flash floods.
