Heavy Rains Damage Properties In Florida Neighborhood

Several feet of floodwater led to damaged homes and cars Sunday in the Crystal Lakes section of Lakeland. According to the Lakeland Fire Department several streets were flooded and cars stalled out in the water. The heavy rains came through on Saturday, but the cleanup lasted through the weekend. The roof of Jay’s Mini Mart on Main Street in Lakeland collapsed because of Saturday night’s rains. No one was hurt, but a photo of what the store looked like before and after showed the extent of the destruction of the store.
