Louisiana School Bus Overturns On Muddy Road

A Rapides Parish school bus lost control in a muddy area on La. 121 on Wednesday morning and overturned, injuring 11 students and the driver, state police said. Troopers said the accident happened around 6:15 a.m., when the bus, driven by 33-year-old Jake D. Lawson, "encountered a large amount of mud on the road." Lawson lost control, and the bus left the road and overturned, coming to rest onto its side, officials said. All 11 children and Lawson sustained minor-to-moderate injuries and were transported to area hospitals.
