Massachusetts Pipeline Worker Rescued From Trench

A technical rescue saved a man’s life late Monday night. A man working on pipeline construction fell into a 15-foot trench and was knocked unconscious. It happened around 11:30 p.m. on Route 1 north, right in front of Legacy Place. The worker was initially unconscious after falling into the trench on his stomach. Deputy Fire Chief John Fontaine told FOX25 that the worker was in and out of consciousness during the rescue. Three rescue workers went into the trench with a backhoe to pull the worker up. EMT’s were able to stabilize him and get him to the hospital.
