No Signs of Foul Play in Deadly Natural Gas Explosion

A natural gas explosion killed husband and wife on Friday night in southern Illinois. According to Jefferson County Coroner Eddie Joe Marks, no foul play is suspected. He said he’s still waiting on final results from autopsy and toxicology reports, but at this time the cause of death is consistent with the explosion and fire that followed. The autopsies were conducted on Sunday in Mt. Vernon, Ill. Marks said the house exploded just before 8 p.m. in Ina, Ill. The victims are Byford Campbell, 87 and Wastina Campbell, 87
