Ohio jury awards $39 million to family of paving inspector killed on I-271

A Cuyahoga County jury on Thursday awarded $39 million to the family of a paving inspector who was struck down and killed by a driver in a construction zone on I-271 in Richfield Township in 2010. Attorney Christian Patno, who represented the family of the victim, Randy Roginski, 41, of North Royalton, described the working conditions in the construction zone the night of July 27 as “ridiculously dangerous.”The jury that heard the two-week trial agreed.
