Fifteen Oklahoma counties have been declared as part of a state of emergency from the May 8 and May 9 storms. Atoka, Bryan, Choctaw, Cleveland, Coal, Comanche, Garvin, Johnson, Kay, McCurtain, Murray, Noble, Payne, Stephens and Tillman counties were all named as part of the state of emergency.“I appreciate the ongoing work of our first responders who have been working diligently to assist those in need,” said Gov. Mary Fallin. “I also offer my continued thoughts and prayers to all those affected by the storms.” The EF3 tornado that went through Garvin and Murray counties on May 9 claimed the lives of two 76-year-olds.
