Biologically speaking, its called “the rut” the time each November when male deer, or bucks, are on the move and looking to breed with comely does. These days, the rut is on the minds of everyone from game wardens to police officers who are responding to accidents that occur when a car gets in the way of love. And as it turns out, the Seacoast areas of New Hampshire and Maine have among the highest populations of deer in each state, so the chances of a driver coming upon these inattentive deer crossing the road are greater here than elsewhere with repercussions ranging from a slight dent in the car to rather major damage and personal injury.
