Semi Strikes Louisiana School Bus

One child and a truck driver have been taken to the hospital after an 18-wheeler struck a Caddo Parish School bus on Monday afternoon in West Shreveport. It happened just after 3 p.m. on Bert Kouns at I-20 near Westport Ave. According Caddo Parish School Board Communication Director Bill Strother, the 18-wheeler truck was turning in to the Petro gas station when it struck Caddo Parish School bus #35 from Timmons Elementary. Strother says there were 22 children on the bus. One student, a female, was taken to Willis Knighton North with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
