South Dakotan Guilty Of Torching Bar For Insurance Payout

A Herreid woman was found guilty of arson after she and three others set fire to a bar last January to collect insurance money. Lori Brandner, 41, was found guilty of one count of aiding and abetting arson, one count of conspiracy to commit arson and one count of submitting a fraudulent insurance claim, South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley said in a statement. Brandner and her husband owned the Roadhouse Bar and Grill in Herreid, which was extensively damaged in a fire on Jan. 21, 2015. Brandner, along with three others, deliberately set the fire and then filed a fraudulent $310,000 insurance claim for the property.
