Tanker, Pickup Collision In South Carolina Kills Passenger

A Travelers Rest man was killed and another was hurt when a tanker truck and a Dodge Dakota pickup collided in Berea early Friday morning. The crash happened just after 2 a.m. on White Horse Road and West Blue Ridge Road near the KFC restaurant. Troopers said the tanker truck was turning left onto Blue Ridge when it was hit by the oncoming Dakota. The coroner said 27-year-old Joseph Bryant of Pine Log Ford Road was killed. Bryant was a passenger in the Dakota. The driver of the pickup, an 18-year-old male, was entrapped and had to be mechanically removed from the Dakota, troopers said.
