Tornado Leaves Extensive Damage In Pensacola, Florida

A tornado ripped through Pensacola and Escambia County, Florida Tuesday night. County officials and local TV stations are reporting extensive damage. Weather and emergency officials estimate a 2-mile long path from Northpointe Boulevard to Scenic Highway. There are multiple cases of structural and building damage of varying severity around this route. Among the most severe was at Moorings Apartments. Three buildings sustained heavy damage, including partial collapse. Preliminary estimates indicate 24 units were destroyed. Approximately six have minor damage.
