The National Weather Service has confirmed that the storm that hit Louisa Monday was an EF-2 tornado with high winds of 120 miles per hour. The area hit was approximately two and a half miles. On Tuesday, the National Weather Service visited Lawrence County to survey the damage from the Independence Day storms. Louisa was one of the hardest hit areas during Tuesday nights rains and strong winds. Reports of a tornado touching down at a Walmart store were widely reported on social media. The store was damaged and trees and cars were toppled over in the parking lot.
