A 50-year-old Grapevine woman was arrested after being rescued from her flooded car on a road that has been shut down to traffic for days, police said. Ann Lopez drove past police barricades on Farm-to-Market Road 2499, which has been closed to traffic for two days due to rising waters from Denton Creek, according to police. Onlookers watched as authorities used a dump truck to rescue Lopez. Her condition was not immediately released, but authorities said she appeared to be fine. Lopez was later arrested for disobeying a traffic control device; a class B misdemeanor.
