Another tragic day on the tracks, less than two weeks after a Metro-North train derailed and crashed injuring 70 people. A 27 year veteran of the railroad was and killed by a train in West Haven while working on the tracks. "As long as I have known him he has worked for them, I cant believe that happened. Oh my God," said a woman. As word spread of the train accident, family gathered at Bob Ludens home. He was struck and killed while doing work on the tracks at the new West Haven station. Luden worked for Metro-North for more than 27 years. Witnesses say they heard the whistle announcing the New Haven train on its way to Grand Central Station.
