The Billing & Collection Analyst role will prepare and ensure successful and timely receipt of premium payments from checks, lockbox, credit cards, check-free, on-line, etc.
This position is full-time and is located in Arlington, Virginia and will report to the Director of Policyholder Services.
Working Hours: 8:30 pm to 5:00 pm
∑ Prepare and ensure successful and timely receipt of premium payments from checks, lockbox, credit cards, check-free, online, etc.
∑ Process all member payments, such as premiums and loan payments, and post to the policy administration system(s)
∑ Research and resolve any issues as requested from Customer Service Specialists, regarding billing and collections
∑ Reconcile and clear suspense accounts in a timely manner
∑ Ensure the cross-training of all duties and responsibilities noted above in order to ensure proper continuity of operations and coverage of operational functions at all times
∑ Maintain a thorough understanding and knowledge of all NMAA products and services provided to members; and software programs which are required to be used by Membership Representatives (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, ALIP, Knowledge Lake, Salesforce.com, etc.)
∑ Comply with all pertinent laws/regulations, Bylaws and policies established by the Board, and all written/verbal instructions received from the VP of Operations, Director of Policyholder Services, Manager of Operations and/or Team Lead.
∑ Other duties as assigned
∑ Associateís degree and/or at least 1-2 years of relevant experience required
∑ Ability to gain a strong understanding in banking or life insurance billing and collections specific work routines
∑ Hold certification(s) or be pursuing insurance related designations such as ACS, FLMI, and/or CLU
∑ Have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, and experience with a life insurance policy administration system a plus
∑ Work directly with Customer Service Specialists regarding billing and collection concerns
