Our client’s nationally recognized habitational program provides property coverage carriers for apartment complexes, condominiums, townhomes, and hotels/motels offering a broad range of coverage and deductible options. They strive to build partnerships with both clients and carrier partners based on trust, transparency, and integrity. We are seeking a Sr. Claims Manager — Commercial Property Lines to join their commercial claims team.
Overview: The Sr. Claims Manager serves as a critical interface between the insured and the Company in the handling of large and often complex losses specific to the habitational program.
Functions:
• Manage large and complex commercial property insurance claims from inception through resolution. • Create high level of policyholder satisfaction by complying with standards for timeliness of contact, follow-up, payments, and Unfair Claim Practice Act. • Review, investigate, confirm coverage, evaluate liability, establish and manage reserves, negotiate settlements, and seek authorization for payment of claims as procedure dictates. • Communicate with policyholders and their representatives verbally and in writing. • Control and organize field adjusters to ensure they are utilizing proper methods. • Control and organize consultants and experts as warranted. • Work with legal counsel and processes within the Strata Programs (discovery, depositions, mediations, settlement, coverage evaluations, file updates, etc.). • Identify and investigate fraudulent activity. Partner with SIU and Subrogation to identify fraud and subrogation opportunities. • Maintain on-going diary in accordance with company guidelines. • Conduct vendor bill reviews. • Maintain and update claims files as procedures dictates. • Must thoroughly understand and stay abreast of policy terms and conditions, court decisions and industry trends.
