An adjuster deployed to a disaster zone to handle high volumes of claims after hurricanes, wildfires, or other catastrophes.

Cat adjusters may be independent or staff, often working long hours on fee schedules or daily rates. Licensing and reciprocity rules still apply across state lines.



Following a hurricane, hundreds of cat adjusters lodge in a staging area and complete 4–6 inspections daily.
