County weathers historic flooding

Cheatham County saw its worst flooding ever over the weekend, damaging homes, closing dozens of roads and causing millions of dollars worth of damage. County Mayor Bill Orange has declared the county a disaster area and federal assistance is likely on its way. No injuries or deaths were reported as a result of the flooding and storms. Emergency workers across the county have stayed busy since Saturday as record-setting rainfall fell across the area in a short span of time, resulting in flash flooding.
