Microburst cited in turnpike snarl

A microburst is being blamed for the crash of three semitrailers that blocked the Kansas Turnpike near El Dorado for several hours Wednesday night, authorities said Thursday. Three tornadoes were reported in connection with the line of thunderstorms that formed in south-central and central Kansas late Wednesday afternoon. But there were no reports of damage, National Weather Service meteorologist Chris Jakub said Thursday.
