Suspected tornadoes kill 1 in St. Clair County

Severe storms Sunday that spawned reported tornadoes and high winds pounded a St. Clair County campground, killing one person, injuring four and tossing an RV into a lake. In Metro Detroit, the National Weather Service confirmed one tornado in Wayne County's New Boston and surveyed damage from another unconfirmed tornado in Carleton in Monroe County. St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon said James Anderson, 75, of Mount Clemens died Sunday in a "massive" storm at Fort Trodd Family Campground Resort in Clyde Township. He said details of how Anderson died won't be released until an autopsy is completed. He had no details on the injuries of other victims at the rustic RV park near Port Huron. They were taken to area hospitals.
