The Fourmile Fire in Boulder County has surpassed 2002's Hayman Fire as the worst wildfire in the state's history, at least in terms of homes destroyed. The Fourmile Fire has consumed at least 139 homes and more than the 133 homes destroyed in the Hayman Fire. The Boulder Daily Camera yesterday reported that the Fourmile Fire also has consumed four outbuildings and damaged another 24 structures, and that firefighters hope to have the blaze contained in 10 days.
