Anxious wait as claims top 50,000

Thousands of earthquake-hit homeowners face an anxious wait over insurance claims. The Earthquake Commission (EQC) will increase the number of inspectors in Canterbury from 60 to 400 in coming weeks. The number of claims topped 50,000 yesterday, but EQC expects the figure to pass 100,000.
