Megi insured damage in China limited: Modeler

Tropical Storm Megi, formerly a typhoon, is expected to result in relatively low insured damages in China, according to catastrophe modeler EQECAT Inc. The storm made landfall in China during the weekend. In a statement late Saturday, Oakland, Calif.-based EQECAT estimated that the storm would cause less than $100 million in economic damage.
