Cold weather leads to increase in home insurance claims

Lloyds TSB Insurance has reported that the recent snow and cold weather have led to a `sevenfold increase` in home insurance claims for frozen and burst pipes. The insurer said that one in twenty home insurance claims is for burst pipes - compared with less than 1% during November.
