Thomasville officer faces insurance fraud charge

A police detective in Thomasville has been indicted on charges of insurance fraud and obstruction of justice, state Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin said Tuesday. The N.C. Department of Insurance said Alan Dale Pope, 48, of 281 Cody Drive, Thomasville, turned himself in to authorities at the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 10. He was released after posting a $100,000 bond.
