Truck runs off Veterans Parkway, strikes Baker’s Square

A truck went off Veterans Parkway this morning and crashed into the back of the Baker’s Square restaurant at 3434 Freedom Drive. Police said no one inside the restaurant was injured and that the truck driver apparently had a seizure. He was taken to the hospital and was expected to be OK, authorities said. His name and that of the trucking company were not immediately available. Initial reports were that the driver was northbound on the highway about 9:30 a.m. The truck went across the median, across the southbound lanes, down an embankment and into the back of the restaurant.
