A United Airlines flight makes an emergency landing at the Chicago Rockford International Airport. The flight was headed from Madison to O’Hare. An ASA spokesman says there were 50 people on the United Express Flight 5822 at the time. It was operated by Express Jet Airlines. No one was hurt. One of the people on the plane, Nancy McCartan says passengers were told they’d been hit by lightning. "I was just reading, and there was a very loud crash noise and a flash. We both were really startled and didn’t know what it was. Anyway, after probably about two or three minutes, the flight attendant got on and said that we were struck by lightning."
