Public adjusters would have more access to homeowners in the immediate aftermath of a storm if the Florida Supreme Court rules Floridas current public adjuster law unconstitutional. The Florida Supreme Court recently heard oral arguments in the case of Atwater v. Kortum (Case number 11-133) after the states First District Court of Appeals found that the states 2008 law limiting public adjusters contact with homeowners is unconstitutional on the grounds it interferes with their rights to commercial free speech.
