Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John Doak said his new “catastrophe team” is speeding up claims payments as the state experiences more weather-related disasters. “We know we’re going to have issues,” Doak told the local GOP luncheon club. “This is Oklahoma.” His office accredits out-of-state adjusters who are called upon to inspect damage claims in Oklahoma. They routinely go to disaster sites to help accelerate the process. “When I show up, those insurance companies tend to get there fast,” he said. “That’s not a Republican or a Democrat issue. That’s an Oklahoma issue.”
