Several boats on the Banana River were damaged or destroyed over the weekend as record-setting rainfalls and high winds whipped Central Florida. Strong winds pushed at least eight boats ashore along the Pineda Causeway near State Road A1A in Brevard County. Other vessels sunk as wicked weather battered the region. Several passersby were stopping to take photos of the wreckage. The Columbus Day weekend storm of 2011 didnt have a name, but it dumped more rainfall across Brevard County than some of this decades strongest Space Coast hurricane strikes.
