Couch Triggers Deadly Crash

A piece of furniture is being blamed for one death and three injuries along a busy I-5 Tuesday night. It all started when a tan car hit a couch that and fallen onto the freeway near Charter Way in Stockton. The driver stopped and he and his passenger, a woman, got out to survey the damage. A black car swerved to avoid the couch and collided with a big-rig truck. The truck and the black car crashed into the tan car, pushing the tan car toward the people who had gotten out. The driver of the tan car was pushed off the freeway and down to Charter Way below where he died. His passenger, the woman, was pinned against the guard rail.
