Car fire spreads to Spokane home, fire officials find marijuana in basement .

Emergency crews responded to a house fire in Spokane Saturday morning and stumbled upon an unexpected discovery. It broke out around 11:45 a.m. at 35 East Garland. Fire officials say the fire started when the homeowner was using a torch to remove parts from a vehicle frame. As he was cutting the straps holding the gasoline tank, he cut into the fuel tank. A fire ignited and spread to the vinyl siding of the home and then to the attic.
