Vehicle inspection stations in Missouri would have to carry insurance to cover vehicle damage done by employees, under legislation moving through the state Senate. Missouri requires inspections every two years for older vehicles. They can be performed at auto repair shops or other stations certified by the State Highway Patrol. Sen. Robin Wright-Jones, a St. Louis Democrat, says that if the state is going to require drivers to get their vehicles inspected, it should also require shops to hold liability insurance. The inspection station insurance bill is SB504.
