Legislation approved by the Oklahoma House of Representatives would eliminate liability for any entity or person providing access to a safe place during instances of severe weather, as long as they were acting in good faith. The Senate amended the original bill to include its current language and approved it unanimously. House Bill 2419, by state Rep. John Enns, was approved in the House by a vote of 89-2 and will now proceed to the governor’s desk to be signed into law.
