It will take an inventory before the loss can be calculated, but officials say burglars made off with a substantial amount from 70 freight train cars. Jefferson Parish sheriffs deputies told WDSU-TV Thursday that the Union Pacific Rail Road train cars were discovered to have been illegally opened Tuesday night and boxes of various merchandise, ranging from electronics, clothing and shoes, were strewn about the cars. Investigators said the seals to secure the doors had been cut.
