Iowa legislative candidate faces civil lawsuit

A former University of Iowa student from Johnston who is running for a House seat in the Legislature this November has been sued by a former roommate for damages stemming from alleged negligence and assault in an incident at a college party in Johnson County that left him permanently disfigured due to facial gash that required 39 stitches.
