3 injured in Lake Pleasant boat explosion

Authorities in Peoria say three people received flash burn injuries when the boat they were on exploded at Lake Pleasant on Sunday morning. Peoria Fire spokesman Tom Pendley said a man and two women were injured when the boat they were on exploded shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday. An object from the boat impaled one of the women’s arms, said MCSO Sgt. Wayne Lupinski. Two other people on board were not hurt. The incident happened near the 10-lane boat ramp on the back side of the lake. "Fortunately, this explosion occurred not far from the dock," Pendley said.
