Crash sends pole through truck’s windshield

Police say it’s amazing no one was killed when a pole crashed through a truck’s windshield in Hingham Wednesday. The pole split the cab, going in between the driver and his wife just inches from their heads. “All of a sudden there was a white truck in the middle of the sidewalk…It was crazy. That’s all I can say. They were there one minute, then there the next,” said Melissa Garner, who heard the crash. Sam Soufan was working nearby and came rushing outside. He said he has seen accidents before, but nothing quite like this.
