Robert Hartwig, president of the Insurance Information Institute, was no more than 100 feet away from where one of two reported explosions near the finish line at the Boston Marathon occurred yesterday. “Luckily, we had left the scene before it happened because my son had finished,” Hartwig tells PC360. Hartwig’s son, Jordan, took part in the marathon wearing Army fatigues with 45 lbs. of gear on his back as part of a fundraiser with the Syracuse ROTC to benefit injured veterans.
