Fires across New Mexico continue to burn

Several fires continue to burn in New Mexico. The Silver Fire burning in southern New Mexico has grown to more than 22-thousand acres tonight. Fire crews say dry, hot and windy weather caused the fire to spread. The flames continue to threaten the small, nearby town of Kingston though crews are working to created defensible space around the town. The Silver Fire is 5 percent contained. It’s a different story in Northern New Mexico.
